       The Family of William Bishop, the Family of another of my [Howard Smith's] Paternal Great-Great-Grandmothers; and, of course Anthony's Family. Anthony and myself are both descended from William Bishop and Diane Harwood, as are members of several other Families.

The Bishop Family have been updated, March the 11th, 2007,
again in August 2008 after more Information was provided by Anthony Bishop;
and again on January 30, 2011,
and in September 2016, following more Photos of the Bishop Family provided by Sylvia [Taylor] Robertson .

      My Cousin, Anthony [Bishop] was twice married. Firstly, to Betty Pascoe in 1953; and secondly to Eileen Norman in 1980.

      Betty's Family is
the John Pascoe Family, circa 1530, who came from the area around Wendron in Cornwall. Associated with the Pascoe Family is the Family of William Bolitho, who was born abt. 1545 in Helston, Cornwall. The Family of Martin Glasson, circa 1640 & Perry Family were also related to the Pascoe Family.
The Pascoe Family have been updated [with 300 more Individuals] and the Bolitho Family added, May 27, 2006.
The Loveitt, Mitchell, Moore, Annesley, Owens, Pascoe and Bolitho Families have been updated on March the 19th, 2007.
       Another Family, famous in the Histories of Cornwall and England, and closely associated with the Pascoe Family is that of John de Tremayne, who was born about 1228. However, this represents only a part of the great Tremayne Tree.
The Tremayne Family have been added to the WebSite on July the 3rd, 2011.
and the Family has been updated on March the 4th, 2012.
       Eileen's Family is the Norman Family, who probably came from the Area around Bath, the earliest being and unknown Norman, who had 3 Sons, probably more, William, Joseph and John, born between 1722 and 1748.
The Norman Family Information has been added to the WebSite on May the 25th, 2010.

       In May 2004, Ivy Trott also sent some Bishop Family Information, although we have not been able to connect this Bishop Family to Anthony Bishop's Line. Since the Family of Thomas Bishop originated in Somerset, it is likely that there is a Connection.
Belatedly, this Bishop Family has been added to the WebSite in March 2011.

       The Armytage/Armitage Family, the Descendants of Sir John Armytage of Wrigbowls, born about 1100, who came from the Area near Gosberton in Lincolnshire.
The Armytage Family have been updated, August the 11th, 2007.

      In October, 2007, Mike More sent a large amount of Armitage Family Information covering the Armitage Family in North America. These had not previously been on the Armitage Family Pages; and included Information on the Perrin, Sturman and Ufford Families amongst others.
There are now a separate set of WebPages limited to these [North American] Armitage Families. ;
and for the Perrin Family who were married into the Armitage Family in Ontario, Canada, the Ufford Family who also married into the Armitage Family in York Co. Ontario in 1862; and the Family of John Timberlake, born about 1761, whose Family married into the Armitage Family when Eloisa married Seth in Indiana in 1845.
       Earlier in 2007, Rick Waggener had sent Information on the Family of Charles Thomas Sturman, of Detroit, Michigan, USA, another part of the American Armitage Family Group.
      
The Family of Joseph Doane, or Doan, circa 1710, married into the Armitage Family in Bucks County, Pennsylvania; and moved on to Ontario in Canada where many Armitage Family Members settled. To see old Maps of the Townships and Counties of Ontario click here.
       
Now, in May, 2009, Kale Hobbes has sent Information on the Atkinson and Sanderson Families, who married into the Doane and Armitage Families when Elizabeth Doan married Jacob Atkinson about 1850.
       In April, 2010, Edith [Karlstrom] Bush has added Information on her Karlstrom Family, who are incorporated into the North American Armitage Family WebSite; but also have their own Family WebPages.
The Rae to Sturman Families have been updated on March the 19th, 2007.
The Ontario Armitage Family has been added, November the 2nd, 2007.
The Perrin Family WebPages have been added in December 2007; and
the Timberlake Family Pages have been added in April 2008.
The Atkinson/Sanderson Family WebPages have been added in Ocotber 2009
In December 2009, Edith Bush has provided further Information resulting in updating the American Armitage and the Timberlake Families on September the 14th, 2010;
and, in September 2010, Edith's Karlstrom Family have been incorporated in the North American Armitage Family;
and now, in December 2010, the Karlstrom Family WebPages have been uploaded to the WebSite.
The Armytage, Armitage and Doane Families have been updated on May the 7th, 2011 as a result of a Privacy Request .

       The Family of Rogeri Bettany, 1651-1772, probably born in Dilhorne in Staffordshire, England. Associated with the Bettany [and the Bishop] Families is the Family of Archibald Dow, probably from Longforan in Perthshire, Scotland.
The Dow Family have been added to our WebSite on September 20, 2011.

       The Brockman Family, married into the Drake Family; and became the Drake-Brockman Family. They are connected to the Armitage Family through the Hunter, Cassells and Watson Families.
Hugh Drake-Brockman
has provided much of the Information.
The Brockman Family have been updated March the 12th, 2007.
Following receipt of further Information from Hugh Drake-Brockman in December 2009,
     the Brockman Family have been updated on September the 3rd, 2010.
Again, following more Conversations with Hugh Drake Brockman, and Dianne Mullinder,
     primarily concerning the various Applications of the various Dreke, Drake-Brockman and Drake Brockman Names,
     we have again updated the WebPages on August the 7th, 2014, pending further Corrections from Hugh.

       The Brown Family, of Wiltshire, who eventually married into the Bishops.
The Brown Family have been updated March the 12th, 2007.

       The Family of Thomas Clabburn, born 1760, probably in Norwich, where the Family were noted Shawl Makers; and the first 5 Generations of the Family of Edward Dann have been added. The Dann Family married into the Clabburns in their 4th Generation.
The Clabburn Family have been added on October the 16th, 2009;
and have ben updated on April the 15th, 2010.
They have again been updated on November the 6th, 2010; and their Dann Family Ancestors have been added .

       The Family of Joseph Cooke-Hurle, born 1814, in Brislington in Somerset, who married into the Armitage and Forbes Families.
The Cooke-Hurle Family have been updated March the 12th, 2007.


THE DENNE & COLLARD FAMILIES:
         The Denne Family are an ancient Kent Family originating there, probably in the 10th Century. Although we have, now in late 2008, several Families associated with the Denne and Collard Families, we have recently received an extremely large File of Information on the Denne and related Families.
Since this now results in many more Families to be added to our WebSite.

       The group of Families descended from Gertrude de Walt, including the Allens, Taylors and Merricks. Gertrude was born about 1870, in Illinois.
The de Walt Family Pages have been updated on March the 15th, 2007.

       The Forbes Family, of Knappernay, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. For more information on clan Forbes, click here. Marrying into the Forbes Family, were the Wilkinsons. The earliest, Joseph, circa 1700, came from Leeds in Yorkshire.
The Forbes Family Pages have been updated on October the 1st, 2009 after some Brown Family were added.

       The Wilkinson Family are also associated with, the Chaplin Family, who trace their origins back to Robert Chaplin, born in Long Melford, Suffolk about 1504; and the Archer [l'Archer] Family, starting with Fulbert l'Archer, born 1066, whose Family occupied Umberslade Hall in Warwickshire for most of the last Thousand Years.

       The Parke Family is another Family closely associated with the Wilkinsons and Chaplins. All of the Parke Family Information can be found within the Chaplin Family Pages.
Most of the Wilkinson Information has been provided by James Wilkinson & David Allison.

The Forbes Family Pages have been updated on March the 15th, 2007;
and the Wilkinson Family Pages have been updated on March the 16th, 2007.
The Chaplin and l'Archer Family Pages have been added on April the 12th, 2007;

       The Family of Henry Ayscough, a Family of Undertakers and Carpenters are also closely associated with the Wilkinson Family; and James can be contacted for more Information.
David Allison and James Wilkinson have also very kindly permitted the inclusion of a History of the Wilkinsons and another of the Chaplin Family that they have written.
The Ayscough Family Pages have been updated on March the 17th, 2007.

        Another Family closely associated with the Wilkinsons is the Family of James Douglas, who was born about 1740 in the Area of the Surrey Hertfordshire Border.

       The Family of John Gascoigne, who came from Aberford in Yorkshire, who was born around 1500; and who married into the Armytage Family is also available.

       As a result of the receipt of a large File of Data from Timothy Wallace in November 2005, a number of Families who are connected to the Forbes Family have been added. These include,

the Descendants of Rollo, G-G-GrandFather of William [the Conqueror] de Normandie,
William [Bill the ConQ to those who know him well] supposedly had an illegitemate Son to Maud de Ingelrica, the Daughter of a Saxon Nobleman. This Son, William Peverell [the elder] assumed the Name of his Step-Father when Maud married Ranulf Peverell. The Peverell Family subsequently lead into the Armitages, Bishops, Hungerfords anongst many others.
The Rollo [de Normandie]-William the Conquerer Family WebPages have been updated; and
The WebPages for the Peverell Family have been added on November the 8th, 2010.
      Families associated with the de Normandie Family include the de Lathom Family of Lancashire. The de Lathom Family merge into the Risley [de Risley, Stanley and Griffiths Families after several Generations.

the Descendants of John Jeffreys, circa 1695, probably from Hertfordshire in England,
As a result of a further File specifically concerning the Jeffreys and related Families, received from
Alison [Jordan] Elkin in November 2006, the Family of Edward Jeffreys has been dramatically expanded.

The Jeffreys Family Pages have been updated on October the 1st, 2009 after some Brown Family were added;

the Family of William Hagell, circa 1750, probably from Canterbury in Kent [He made Ginger Bread there], are a Part of the Jeffreys Family.
The Hagell Family have been added in August 2011 as a result of Information provided by Christine Allan-Johns in December 2010.

the Family of Stephen Laurie, born 1575, probably in Dumfries, Dumfiresshire, Scotland,
the Family of Thomas Latter, born about 1750, probably from London. There are really very few Latters in these Pages they are mostly of the Goldie Family with some early Latters.
We also have the Family of Sir Charles Granville Stuart Menteth, born 1769 in Closeburn, also in Dumfriesshire, Scotland,
the Family of Quintin Riddell, the 6Gt-Grandfather of Sir Walter Riddell, 2nd Bart., circa 1601, probably from the Riddell Estate in Roxburghshire in Scotland,
the Family of Richard Valpy, circa 1790, from India and later New Zealand; and lastly,
the Family of Robert We Sterne [later to become the Western Family], circa 1290, from Holland.

       The Family of Robert Hume, born circa 1710, who probably came from the Area around Athelstane in East Lothian Scotland . The Hume Family expanded into the Gunion, Nisbet and Humbley Families. They connected to the Armitage Family through the Cassels Family.
The Information on these Families was provided in January 2007 by Debra Humbley;
and have been updated on March the 18th, 2007.
More Information has been provided by Ian Hume in 2009; and the WebPages have been updated in March 2010.

     and the Hume Family WebPages updated on March the 31st, 2011; and following one more 'privatising', again on January 22, 2012 .

       The Family of Everard de Hungerford, probably of Somerset, whose Family subsequently married into the Armitage Family.
The Hungerford Family has been updated on March the 4th, 2012.

       The Family of William de Leigh, circa 1420, probably from Kempthorne, in Cornwall, whose Name was changed over a period of time to Kempthorne. In November 2009, Caspar Graham provided details of another Kempthorne Family, that of Edward Kempthorne, who probably originated in the same Area of the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. These 2 Kempthorne Families are probably connected; but we have not yet established that Connection. However, later in the same Month further Information from Anthony Bishop established that Connection. The entire Kempthorne Family, as we know it is now available on the Kempthorne WebPages.
        In November 2009, Caspar Graham has provided Information on the Family of John Frank Tallyfer Borlas [Borlase], circa 1330, whose Family probably originated in the Area of Helson, in Cornwall. Caspar also provided Information on the William Sandys Family, circa 1605, probably from the St Austell Area of Cornwall; and of the Thomas Watts Family, circa 1695, whose Origins are unknown; but who were heavily involved in the Area of South East Asia, Singapore and India.
The Hungerford and Kempthorne Families have been updated on March the 18th, 2007.
The Edward Kempthorne Family has been added on August the 9th, 2010.

       The Robinson Family, or Armagh, Ireland, into whose Family, the Family of John Moore married Mary Beatrice Moore married the Rev. Arthur William Robinson in 1918.

       The Family of Richard Routledge of Cumbria and the Scots Border; and the associated Latimer Family of the same general area.

       The Family of James Saxby, of Battle in Sussex, England.

       The Family of John Scrymgeour, 1819-1864 from Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. The Scrymgeour Family connected with the Bishop Family when David Neil McCullock Scrymgeour married Ellen Gwendoline Bishop on the 3rd of February, 1926. The bulk of the Information on this Family Group came from James Gilbert Reid in February 2010.

       The Family of John Siddons, born near Reading in Pennsylvania, USA, in 1729. The Siddons Family married into the Armitage Family.
The Siddons Family have been added, November 8, 2004.

       The Thane Family, of London.
The Thane Family has been updated on Ocotber the 12th, 2009,
and again, following further Information from Robert Griffiths, on November the 12th, 2013 .


       The Robert Wells Family, of Ontario, Canada.

       The Family of James Whittem, circa 1675, probably from the Coventry Area, in Warwickshire.
Associated [married into] the Whittem Family is the Family of John Loveitt, born about 1703, probably in Shilton, Warwickshire. Other smaller Family Groups that were associated with the Loveitt Family are the Families of John Hopkins, Thomas Voyle and Robert Reader. Thomas was born about 1713, probably at Ansty in Warwickshire; and Robert Reader married Thomas' youngest Child.
The Whittem and Loveitt Families have been updated on August the 8th, 2008.
The Thomas Voyle Family has been added on August the 9th, 2008.
The Loveitt Family has abain been updated on December the 12th, 2011;
and the Hopkins Family have been added .

        In July 2009, Janice Marie Woodroffe sent an eMail that contained the following:
"I was going through some old family papers this evening that were originally possessed by Randy's aunt, when I came across some Bishop/Harwood information.  The beginning states "Diana Harwood Bishop's sister was Mrs. May.  She owned "Rose Cottage" in Bath - rented to the poet Thomas Hood who wrote a verse about our grandparents - Begins - "When Mr. Band Mrs. B (sic) were sitting down to tea"
