29. William STANGER [4310] (Dr. George Eaton STANGER MRCSE LSA14, Rebecca YORKE10, George2, George1) was born 2 Qtr 1845 in Nottinghamshire England and died on 17 Apr 1928 in Ruardean Gloucestershire England at age 83.

General Notes: William was a Surgeon; and in 1889 lived in Wakefield

William had been the assistant medical officer at the Nottingham Lunatic Asylum in 1868, the year after becoming an MRCS, 1st M B London 1869, and Member of the British Medical Association. Then on the 8th December 1870 he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.
Sometime between 1870 and 1881 when he was living at Hardy House Wakefield, he was the Medical Officer for Health in March, Cambridgeshire
(His brother Henry Yorke married the Vicar of March’s daughter. Did he meet her while visiting his brother?)
In the 1881 census William and his family were living at Kirkgate in Wakefield. His wife was Mary Margaret, a local girl and there were two little boys, Francis York age 2 years and Harry aged one month .

By 1892 William was the Hon.Surgeon at Clayton Hospital and Dispensary and Surgeon for the Great Northern Railway living at St. Johns Towers Wakefield, he moved the next year to 7 Bond St. Wakefield.
During this time he became President of the Yorkshire branch of the British Medical Association and J.P. for the City of Wakefield.
On the 17th April 1928 he died at the home of his son Harry, (just as his father had died at his home) Melville House, Ruardean Gloucestershire.

30. George Hurst STANGER [16601] (Dr. George Eaton STANGER MRCSE LSA14, Rebecca YORKE10, George2, George1) was born 3 Qtr 1847 in Nottinghamshire England and died on 15 Jan 1905 in Wolverhampton Staffordshire England at age 57.

Henry Yorke STANGER [4316] (Dr. George Eaton STANGER MRCSE LSA14, Rebecca YORKE10, George2, George1) was born 4 Qtr 1849 in Nottingham Nottinghamshire England, died on 19 Apr 1929 in Chelmsford Essex England at age 80, and was buried on 24 Apr 1929 in Boreham Essex England. The cause of his death was Knocked off his Bicycle near his Home at Chelmsford in Essex.

General Notes: Henry was a Barrister and MP for North Kensington from 1906 to 1910
From 1910 to 1922 he was a Judge

By 1881 Henry Yorke was practising law and had married Henrietta Wastie Green one of the daughters of the Rector of March.1892-4 he was revising barrister in Warwickshire, in 1895 he took silk and became a barrister. In 1900 he unsuccessfully took part in the election for MP for Newark. He was member of parliament for North Kensington for four years from 1906-10 when he retired .He was Recorder for Nottingham for two years and county court Judge for twelve years before he retired in 1922. He was a Justice of the Peace until 1929 when he was knocked off his bicycle near his home at Chelmsford and died. He had two daughters who were widows when he died living together in Cranford Middx.

The funeral of Mr Henry Yorke Stanger, K.C. took place yesterday at Boreham , near Chelmsford. The Rev A.E.Hall (vicar of Boreham)officiated. Among tose present were;- Dr. Geoffrey Stanger (son) and Mrs Stanger, the Rev. F W Green, (brother in law) Mr Reginald Stanger, Sir Thomas Hughes K.C.(acting treasurer of Lincolns Inn), Sir Alfred Hopkinson, K.C.(representing the Benchers of Lincolns Inn), Mr C.Gerald Agnew, Mr and Mrs Lister, Dr. Storr, and miss Helen Wrigley.

Noted events in his life were:
