3. Hugh WATTS [86924] was born circa 1735 and died in 1816 at age 81.

General Notes: In his Ancestor Book of the Watts Family, Caspar Graham says:
Hugh arrived in India and was appointed 25.07.1753 Writer (accountant?) at Cassimbazar when that Factory was captured in 1756.
In August 1757 appointed member of council at Cassimbazar with Hastings, supported Vansittart against the majority on the council, February 1763.
1763, Agent at Rangpore. Collector of Calcutta, February 1766 to February 1767.
His Dismissal ordered by the company late 1766.
On the Burial Register , 19.01.1767 occurs "Hugh, son of Hugh Watts of Council".
Requested passage home on 16th Feb 1767. Returned to England in 1767.
Business partner of Anselm Beaumont in Bengal.
Lovell Hill, Cranbourne, Winkfield, Windsor ??
Sheriff of Berkshire 1776.
He followed his Father , Uncle and Brother into Sun Fire Office, becoming manager in 1770 to 1808 and Secretary from 1786 - April 1806.

Hugh married Elizabeth FENWICK [86925] [MRIN: 28915], daughter of Capt. Thomas FENWICK, Indian Army [86926] and Elizabeth BADMAN [86927], on 27 Mar 1763 in Bengal India. Elizabeth was born on 19 Feb 1746 in Fort William Calcutta Bengal India, was baptised on 19 Apr 1746 in Fort William Calcutta Bengal India, and died circa 1843 at age 97.

   8 F    v. Louisa Carolina Catherine WATTS [86934] was born on 19 Dec 1768, was baptised on 21 Jan 1769 in St Anne's Soho London England, and died on 28 Dec 1791 at age 23.

+ 9 F    vi. Cecelia WATTS [86935] was born on 19 Nov 1769, was baptised on 28 Dec 1769 in St Anne's Soho London England, and died 4 Qtr 1846 in Lichfield Staffordshire England.

   10 F    vii. Amelia WATTS [86946] was born circa 1776 and died on 15 Feb 1845 in Portman Square London England at age 69.

Amelia married Adam GORDON [86947] [MRIN: 28921], son of John GORDON [86948] and Katherine SMITH [86949], on 24 Sep 1797 in Bersted Sussex England. Adam was born in 1770 and died in Apr 1841 in Manchester Square London England at age 71.

+ 11 M    viii. Major George WATTS [86951] was born in 1781 in Berkshire England and died on 03 Mar 1864 in Monkton Isle of Thanet Kent England at age 83.
