Richard married Esther Woolfe JACOBSON [81073] [MRIN: 8515] in 1878 in Christ Church St Laurence Haymarket Sydney Colony of New South Wales. Esther died in 1854 in Northwood Colony of New South Wales.

General Notes: In an eMail received from Phillippa Venn-Brown in November 2009, she said:
With regard to Esther Woolfe Jacobson, it is my understanding that the name was spelt as I have done. I understand the family was rather big in the Orthodox Jewish community in Sydney, although great grandmother converted when she married Richard Senior. They were married at Christ Church St Laurence in Sydney. The rest of her family remained orthodox and I remember my father coming home from one of their funerals, when I was a little girl, and complaining that they had not allowed him to wear his hat as he had at previous funerals but had insisted he wear a yamakah which they provided.
