3. William PEVERELL, the Elder [87733] was born about 1043 in Selby Yorkshire England and died on 28 Jan 1112 aged about 69.

General Notes: Wikipedia says [November 2010]:
William Peverell the Elder was probably the illegitimate son of William the Conqueror and a Saxon princess named Maud Ingelrica (daughter of the noble Ingelric) although this cannot be supported by the historical record.[1] Maud Ingelrica was later married to Ranulph Peverell, from whom William took his surname. William married Adelina of Lancaster, who bore him a daughter Adeliza, born circa 1075, and a son, also named William, born circa 1080.

William married Adelina DE PONTHIEU [87734] [MRIN: 29186], daughter of Roger DE MONTGOMERY [87814] and Almodis LE MARCH [87815], before 1071 in England. Adelina was born about 1054 in Ponthieu Picardy France. Other names for Adelina were Adelina DE LANCASTER and Adelaide DE PONTHIEU.

Children from this marriage were:

7 M    i. Adelise PEVERELL [87817] was born circa 1075 in Nottinghamshire England and died on 27 Mar 1156 at age 81.

+ 8 M    ii. William PEVERELL, the Younger [87735] was born in 1080 in Nottingham Castle Nottinghamshire England and died on 16 May 1156 in Bourn Cambridgeshire England at age 76.
