7. Lt.Col. William JACOB [95622] (John6, Edward II F.S.A.5, Edward I (Dr.)4, Amos M.D.3, Richard2, Amos1) was born on 21 Sep 1800 in England and died on 6 Jun 1854 in New Zealand at age 53.

William married Jane SWINTON [95623] [MRIN: 31945], daughter of Col. Richard SWINTON [95642] and Unknown, in 1835. Jane was born in 1810 and died on 14 Mar 1853 in New Zealand at age 43.

General Notes: In a Medley Pedigree, received from Marcus Whittaker in September 2011, he included the following:
The Swintons were often mentioned in Scottish history and by Sir Walter Scott. They were perpetually engaged in the border wars. One of them, a Sir John Swinton, is said to have married a daughter of King Robert II, grandson of Robert Bruce. Another Sir John Swinton married a niece of Robert III. The daughter of a later Sir John Swinton was the Grandmother of Sir Walter Scott.
