Abt 1825 - 1920
Came from Grantham, Lincolnshire where William was Bailiff on a farm belonging to the 'Angel Inn', Grantham. They later moved to Southampton where for several years they kept an hotel. They invested their savings in a business of Amelia's brother, a building contractor. When his business failed, they lost everything and decided to emigrate. Came to NZ on the 'Halcyon' in 1873.
They came to the Rangitikei district where they worked for some years on the Dalrymple Station and on the Heaton Park Estate. Their sons were also employed there, but went shearing to the large sheds in the district.
William married Amelia Frances SIBSEY [38099] [MRIN: 13932], daughter of Richard SIBSEY [38100] and Frances [38101], about 1855 in Grantham Lincolnshire England. Amelia was born about 1830 in Grantham Lincolnshire England and died 27 Feb 1902 in Sanson Wellington New Zealand about age 72.
