3. James ELLIOTT [21341] (Unknown², Unknown¹) was born in 1791 in Lambeth Surrey England and died on 21 May 1855 in Geelong Colony of Victoria at age 64.

General Notes: In an e-Mail received on December the 11th, 2010, Anthea Mitchell wrote:
James Elliott (1791-1855) was educated at Kings School, Canterbury, England, his old school friends Bishop William Grant Broughton and Sir George Gipps had recommended he come to Australia. Gipps was at Kings School 1797-1803, so if anyone is interested, further information about Elliott, eg. parents, etc, may perhaps be found in the alumni books. Elliott arrived in Australia in the early 1840's.

In a File received from Mark Turnbull on May the 12th, 2010, he included the following:
The Sydney Morning Herald (NSW : 1842-1954) (56> Thursday 8 May 1845
I, JAMES ELLIOTT, formerly of 9 East-Street, Red Lion Square, in the county of Middlesex, in England, and late of No. 10, Buckingham Street the Strand, in the said county, Gentleman, and now residing at Harbour View Cottage, Balmain, near Sydney, in the colony of New South Wales, an Attorney of Her Majesty's Court of Queen's Bench, at Westminster, intend to apply to the Supreme Court of New South Wales, on the last day of this present term, (being the second term of the year 1845) to be admitted an Attorney, Solicitor, and Proctor, of the said Supreme Court,
Dated the first day of May, 1845. 6805. JAMES ELLIOTT.

• Residence at Death: 21 May 1855, Noble Street Geelong Colony of Victoria.

James married Charlotte James ROBINSON [21342] [MRIN: 8497], daughter of William ROBINSON [88250] and Unknown, on 05 May 1818 in St George's Hanover Square London England. Charlotte was born about 1795, was baptised on 22 Oct 1795 in St Andrew's Holborn England, and died about 1837 aged about 42.

+ 5 F    ii. Charlotte James ELLIOTT [21346] was born on 14 Jul 1818 in Middlesex England and died on 20 Feb 1853 in Sydney Colony of New South Wales at age 34.

+ 6 M    iii. George Robinson ELLIOTT, MRCS [3354] was born on 18 Aug 1820 in Wandsworth Surrey England, died on 15 Jun 1899 in Croydon Surrey England at age 78, and was buried in Upper Norwood Surrey England.

   7 F    iv. Emily Agnes ELLIOTT [21349] was born about 1822.

   8 M    v. Charles Sandys ELLIOTT [85447] was born about 1824 and died on 01 Jun 1868 in Abyssinia aged about 44.

General Notes: James died of Sunstroke when he was serving as a Commisioner of H M Military Store on Special Service to Abyssinia.

+ 9 M    vi. Frederick William ELLIOTT [21347] was born about 1826 and died on 02 Oct 1905 in Kassel Hesse Germany aged about 79.

+ 10 M    vii. James Robert ELLIOTT [21348] was born about 1830, died on 17 Oct 1910 in Balmain Sydney NSW Australia aged about 80, and was buried on 18 Oct 1910 in Field of Mars Cemetery North Ryde Sydney NSW Australia.

+ 11 M    viii. Henry Herbert ELLIOTT [21350] was born about 1833 and died on 20 May 1887 in Ipswich Colony of Queensland aged about 54.

   12 F    ix. 1 Further Child ELLIOTT [85416] was born on 13 Oct 1843 in Woollongong Colony of New South Wales. (Stillborn)
